Choosing the Right Vehicle Inspection in Alberta

The right inspection depends on your vehicle and why a report is needed. Hevtech offers CVIP, out-of-province and insurance-related inspections at our Picture Butte shop. Confirm the requirements and vehicle class before booking.

CVIP for commercial vehicles

We provide CVIP inspections for trucks, trailers and buses. Inspection requirements depend on the vehicle and operation. Have vehicle identification details, configuration, due date and previous inspection information ready.

Out-of-province registration requirements

We provide out-of-province inspections for cars, pickups and heavy vehicles. Ask an Alberta registry whether an inspection is required or an exemption applies. Obtain the Request for Vehicle Inspection form where required.

An inspection requested by an insurer

Bring your insurer’s form and instructions and ask the shop to confirm the scope. Your insurer decides whether the report satisfies its requirements. Insurance checks do not guarantee coverage or a discounted premium.

Diagnosis and maintenance visits

A symptom assessment or maintenance check serves the agreed work scope for your vehicle. Tell us about warning lights, noises or handling concerns. Discuss what is included rather than assuming every visit covers all vehicle systems.

Facility approvals and next steps

Alberta’s Vehicle Inspection Program licenses facilities and approves programs and vehicle classes. An AMVIC business licence is separate. Our team explains inspection findings and can discuss required repairs, estimates and reinspection arrangements.
